Technology
It’s easy to be confused by all of the features and specifications of audio gear—especially when those numbers can be gamed. On first glance, Sherbourn’s numbers may seem like a lot of other components—until you look deeper.
So, what separates “professional caliber” from “consumer gear?” What makes the difference in modern home theater and whole-home power amps. It’s really not all that difficult to understand, if you take a longer look at it.
For us, it comes down to really three things:
- Building the best possible components to a set of honest specifications, then selling it for a fair price, rather than designing a component to a price, no matter the consequences.
- Providing exceptional compatibility with the myriad of current HD audio and video formats, as well as tight integration with home control systems.
- Rating our products very conservatively, with no deceiving specs, such as rating THD below full power, or rating power with only a single channel driven.
On the subsequent pages, you can read more about our technology, and why it results in professional-caliber components that perform, above all.
