16-Channel Amplifier
The
LDS 12/900 now has a sibling - in
the equally innovative, affordable, and cosmetically identical
LDS
16/800. Output from each of its 8 zones is 70/100 watts 8/4-ohms
respectively and its musicality is the same thanks to the continued
use of discrete bi-polar transistors, large capacitors and hefty
multi-tap toroidal transformers. Large heat-sinks are augmented
with 2 whisper-quiet fans which activate whenever the ambient
temperature requires additional cooling.
The
LDS 16/800 has identical features to the LDS
12/900 except that the multiple is 8 zones instead of 6. Included
is the patent pending LDS (Load Detection System),
which allows for all the loudspeaker connections to be tested before
the amplifier goes to full power.
Because
all channels are bridgeable into 8-ohms, this versatile amplifier
can be configured for use as a 5.1, 6.1 or even the latest 7.1 home
theater amplifier. Each bridged pair of channels will output up
to 100 watts of clean discrete power. With the chassis being a cosmetic
match for the PT-7000 pre/pro/tuner,
the combination offers another elegant, innovative, high quality
and affordable alternative to those ubiquitous and frequently underpowered
receivers. Configured as a 7.1 home theater amplifier, the LDS 16/800
still has two other channels available for use with 2 pairs of 8-ohm
speakers to give extra music around the house from the pre/pro/tuner's
second zone.
No
matter what the requirements, Sherbourn's LDS 16/800 multi-channel,
multi-zone amplifier provides an answer. Talk to a Sherbourn dealer
and see just how affordable a whole house multi-zone installation
or a home theater system can be - and how each can add to your listening
pleasure.
